Our Work
Conceived in April 2022, Green Roselle hit the ground running.
Within a mere 9 months, the organization hosted 9 clean-up events, connected with Junkluggers to offer an Earth-friendly discount to Village-Wide Garage Sale participants, provided eco-friendly giveaway items at the Taste of Roselle (thank you, Day Owl), volunteered at the Village's community recycling event- Roselle Recycles, partnered with SCARCE to divert books from landfills at the Rotary Club of Bloomingdale-Roselle's Trunk or Treat, helped a local Girl Scout Troop earn their Outdoor Art patches, put on a Composting 101 educational event with the lovely Kay McKeen, teamed up with the League of Women Voters Roselle/Bloomingale and Lake Park Earth Club to urge the Village to adopt the Greenest Region Compact, stood in the rain-whipped wind to help residents smash their pumpkins for compost, manned the Village's Cooking Oil Recycling program the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and worked with SCARCE to recycle holiday lights without the added fees to taxpayers.
Oh, and we also hosted two super fun socials at Pollyanna's, because beer is vegan and building friendships are just as important as caring for the planet :)
